Chi Kung
Shaolin Chi Kung 1.74MB
Many people ask what a Shaolin Chi Kung class is like. This impromptu video clip taken in Costa Rica gives us a glimpse of a typical class taught by Grandmaster Wong. The gentle and easy-to-learn exercise shown in this video, known as "Carrying the Moon", is one of the most effective and enjoyable in all of Shaolin Chi Kung.

Application of Da Lohan Quan
When Sifu Wong visited Sifu Andrew Barnett’s Kung Fu class in Zurich in August 2005, the students took the opportunity to ask Sifu Wong many questions. Ronny asked if Sifu Wong could show him the combat application of the Da Lohan Quan set which he (Ronny) learned at the Shaolin Temple in Henan, China a few years ago.

Kung Fu Sets
Practicing combat sequences is an important method to train combat efficiency. This combat sequence, "Fell Tree with Roots", which incorporates a felling technique and its counter, is performed by Sifu Anthony Korahias from Shaolin Wahnam USA.
This is an advanced set where the exponent uses mind to move chi, and chi to move form. Hence, the exponent can be very fast and powerful yet not tired or panting for breath. This set was demonstrated by Grand Master Wong Kiew Kit about 20 years ago at the University of Science in Malaysia.

The “Shaolin Five Animals” is a classical Kung Fu set. It incorporates the five traditional animal forms and essence of Shaolin Kung Fu, namely “dragon” which trains “mind”, “snake” which trains “energy”, “tiger” which trains “internal force”, “leopard” which trains “speed”, and “crane” which trains “essence”. This set is performed here by Sifu Anthony Korahias of Shaolin Wahnam USA

Miscellaneous Techniques, Combat Sequences and Combination Sets

Shaolin Double Tiger Claws 2.67MB
Southern Shaolin Kung Fu masters like Wong Fei Hong were famous for their use of the Shaolin Double Tiger Claws. When powered by internal force, the gripping and clawing action of this technique can be used against virtually any attack. Grandmaster Wong generously demonstrates some of the secrets of this formidable technique with Sifu Anthony of Shaolin Wahnam USA and other disciples.

Free Sparring
Free sparring is an essential aspect in Kung Fu training. It is not meant to teach students how to fight, but to confirm or test whether they can fight. The video was taken more than 20 years ago. None of the movements were pre-arranged. Notice that the patterns used by Shaolin Wahnam students now in sparring are similar to what were used more than 20 years ago.

Training Procedures
Many people think that first there were Kung Fu sets, then masters took individual patterns out from the set and applied them for combat. Actually it was the reverse. Individual patterns came first, then they were arranged in some meaningful order to form Kung Fu sets. In this video clip Sifu Anthony Korahais demonstrates the basic patterns for hand attacks and defences. Many people may be surprised that by applying these patterns well, a skillful Kung Fu exponent can counter any hand attacks
